Acorn to oak tree to black winter truffle

Truffle Investment

An Environmental, Sustainable, Ecological & Ethical Investment

It is not often that we get a chance to invest in something that is completely environmentally friendly.  Although the aim of a truffle investment is to gain income from the truffle crop, you are also investing in nature and the environment.

Not only does this give you the opportunity to invest in an annual truffle crop but you will also own a number of hard wood Oak trees in France.

In the last 100 years, commercial farming of food crops has grown massively. This type of farming uses nearly 40% of all water consumed in Western Europe.  It strips the land of natural minerals and degrades the quality of the soil. Planting trees helps balance the eco-system, helps stabilise and enrich the soil and uses far less water.

What is a Truffle?

Black Winter Truffles France

The dictionary definition of a truffle is 'a strong-smelling underground fungus that resembles an irregular, rough-skinned potato, growing chiefly in broadleaved woodland on calcareous soils. It is considered a culinary delicacy and found, especially in France, with the aid of trained dogs or pigs'.

Perigord or Black Winter Truffles are the world's 2nd most valuable truffle and the most successfully cultivated. New plantations have sprung up in many countries with mixed success, however none can command the premium price of a true French Perigord Truffle.
